Payment Options
Ebico works in partnership with SSE to deliver the EquiGas and EquiPower tariffs. They bill all our customers on our behalf – so when you receive a bill it will come from SSE.
The bill will come from SSE, but will be branded with the EquiGas or EquiPower logo and charged on the EquiGas or EquiPower prices.
EquiGas and EquiPower are billed separately.
You can choose one of eight ways to pay for EquiGas and EquiPower. Remember, the same low rate applies to the gas or electricity you buy, whichever payment method you choose.

Pay a bill quarterly on demand
Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the most popular payment method and a great way to stay on top of your bills.
- We base your monthly payments on your energy usage for the previous year. If you’re a new customer and don’t have any usage history with us, one of our advisers will recommend an estimated amount based on your property type and lifestyle. This will then be spread evenly over 12 monthly payments.
- We review your account every twelve months to make sure you’re not paying too much or too little. But it’s important that we have accurate meter readings to help us ensure your review is based on the most up to date information. You can provide these if you have an online account or by phoning the 24-hour Meterline on 0800 220 995.
- It’s simple and convenient to set up, all we need is your bank sort code and account number. Payments are usually taken on or around the 15th of each month, however this date can be changed if it’s not convenient for you.
- If the payments need to be increased to reflect your usage then we’ll write to you at least 10 working days before it’s debited.
Alternatively, Variable Direct Debit is a convenient and easy way to pay. Variable Direct Debit allows you to pay your bills directly from your bank account every quarter rather than every month. You’ll get a statement every quarter to show your usage and costs, and the date the payment will be taken.
Pay Online
You can pay your bill and manage your account online by registering for eServices, the online account area on SSE’s (our supply partner) website. It’s quick, easy and convenient and, because it’s available 24/7, it allows you to take control of when and how you pay your bills.

Internet Banking
You can make one-off payments towards your energy bills from most banks. You’ll usually just need to have your account number(s) to hand which you can find on your bill.
If you bank with Lloyds TSB, Royal Bank of Scotland or NatWest, you can also view, pay, and store your energy bills from the secure environment of your online bank. Sign up to manage your bills online at Lloyds TSB Bill Manager, Royal Bank of Scotland Digital Banking (look under ‘Extra services’) or NatWest Online Banking (look under ‘Extra services’). This service is just one of the ways we’re helping you to save time, energy and paper.
Standing Order
Paying by Standing Order means a set amount will be transferred from your bank account every month. Your bank details won’t be held, so you have to agree any changes to the Standing Order with your bank. And as part of our commitment to you, the account will be reviewed at least once a year to check you’re paying the right amount.
Paygo swipe card
The Paygo swipe card is a flexible payment option that you can use to pay your bill at any PayPoint or Post Office. You decide when and how much to pay. You can even make payments before you get your bill. All payments are shown on your quarterly bill and any remaining balance will need to be paid in full when you get your next bill.
This is a great way to pay if you don’t have a regular income or struggle to pay quarterly bills in full.
Quarterly on demand
Fill in the payment slip enclosed with your quarterly bill and send it with your cheque or postal order to:
PO Box 13
Havant
PO9 5JB
Please make the cheque payable to the appropriate company and write your customer account number on the back so that we can ensure that your payment is made to your account. But please, don’t send any cash in the post as unfortunately things can go astray on the way.
If you register for eServices, you’ll be able to make a payment, view your bills and update your meter reading online.
With your credit or debit card
When you receive your bill you can call on the number provided and pay by debit or credit card. If you’re registered for online billing you can pay your bill online.
Note: if you pay by credit card you will be charged a transaction fee of 4%.
Prepayment meter
If receiving a quarterly bill or statement is not suitable for you, you could use a pay as you go meter. This allows you to budget and keep track of how much energy you’re using, as you’re using it. So you can only use what you’ve paid for in advance, meaning there’ll be no unexpected bills to pay.
- You’ll receive a yearly statement showing your usage and payments.
- Credit for pay as you go meters can be bought from your
local Post Office or PayPoint.
