Renewable Heat Incentive
Are you in an “off-gas” area or do you want to switch away from fossil fuel heating?
In March 2011, the UK Government announced the details of their Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
The Renewable Heat Incentive is designed to provide financial support that encourages individuals, communities and businesses to switch from using fossil fuel for heating, to renewables such as wood fuel.
The Energy Saving Trust will be administering the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) scheme as part of the RHI.
What is the Renewable Heat Premium Payment?
This is a UK Government scheme designed to help you afford renewable technologies for your home, by providing funding for technologies such as:
- Solar thermal panels
- Heat pumps ( air source, ground source or water source), and
- Biomass boilers
The amount received as part of the Renewable Heat Premium Payment scheme depends on which technology you are applying for. The voucher values for each of the technologies is listed below:
