How do you know if you are a low energy user?

The easy way to find out is to look at your fuel bill and see how much gas and electricity you have used in the past year. If you use around 8,244 kWh of gas and 1,650 kWh of electric per year, then you are classified as a low energy user.

Don't have a bill to hand?  If two or more of the following apply, you might be a low energy user:

  • You live alone or with one other person
  • You work full time
  • You live in a small home such as a flat or small house
  • Your home is well insulated
  • You are energy conscious - turning off TV's etc, not leaving them on standby, keeping the heating below 20 degrees
